Asia - Broadband - Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Services
DSL technology has been playing a significant role in Asia as the broadband Internet access platform of choice for some years now. It has made obvious good use of the incumbents' copper networks; constant improvements in technology have allowed DSL to reach more customers and provide more reliable service. However, in the last year or two we have seen the start of a migration away from DSL to fibre-based services as the market looks to ever increasing speeds. So far this trend is only evident in the developed markets - South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Much of the region is still embracing DSL. This report provides a regional overview of the DSL market together with some relevant statistics.
